Role Overview
Registered Nurse - Homecare at NMC Healthcare. This role provides direct patient care to both adult and pediatric patients in the home care setting, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations from admission through discharge.
Role Purpose
To deliver comprehensive nursing care to homecare patients across all age groups, including those with complex medical needs, disabilities, and specialized conditions. The role ensures clinical practice meets current evidence-based standards while maintaining patient safety, coordinating with the treating physician and interdisciplinary team, and supporting patient and family education and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Monitoring
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting abnormal values to treating physicians.
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress and problems for reporting and discussion with supervisors, case managers or Medical Doctors.
- Report and record medical events, procedures and other medical parameters.
Clinical Care Delivery
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Monitor intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies.
- Care for clients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy and colostomy.
- Carry out nursing care for clients with pacemakers, peritoneal dialysis and clients on ventilators.
- Deliver nursing care to clients with hemiplegia, paraplegia, Bell's palsy, cerebral palsy, terminally ill and elderly patients.
- Care for newborns, pre- and post-partum mothers.
- Care for physically challenged clients and those requiring special care at home or educational facilities.
- Care for patient wounds to prevent exacerbation of pressure ulcers.
Patient Support & Rehabilitation
- Deliver simple exercises and assist with ambulation.
- Accompany clients to social gatherings, hospitals, other treatment facilities and outdoors.
Coordination & Communication
- Prepare clinical and progress notes.
- Coordinate services and act as liaison between treating physician and other personnel regarding changes in the client's condition and family members.
- Counsel clients and families in meeting nursing and related needs.
Supervision & Education
- Supervise and teach other nursing personnel.
- Participate in in-service programs.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country.
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Basic Life Support training.
- Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment.
- Eligible for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical care qualification.
- Pediatric qualification (for pediatrics RN).
- ACLS (for adult patients).
- PALS (for pediatric patients).
- Teaching and assessing certification.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years working experience as a Registered Nurse.
