Registered Nurse - Homecare

Role Overview

Registered Nurse - Homecare position with NMC Healthcare, providing direct patient care to both adult and pediatric patients in homecare settings.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in home environments. Conduct clinical assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes from admission through discharge. Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served and maintain accountability as a registered professional with the Department of Health.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Care Planning

• Monitor and record vital signs and report abnormal values to treating physicians.
• Prepare clinical and progress notes.
• Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems for reporting and discussion with supervisor, case manager, or Medical Doctor.
• Report and record medical events, procedures, and other medical parameters.

Medication and Therapeutic Administration

• Administer prescribed medications.
• Monitor intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies.

Specialized Patient Care

• Deliver nursing care to clients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and colostomy.
• Carry out nursing care for clients with pacemaker, peritoneal dialysis, and those on ventilator.
• Deliver nursing care to clients with hemiplegia, paraplegia, Bell's palsy, cerebral palsy, and terminally ill patients.
• Provide care to newborns and pre- and post-partum mothers.
• Care for physically challenged clients and those requiring special care at home or educational facilities.
• Care for elderly patients and those requiring specialized attention.

Wound and Pressure Ulcer Management

• Care for patient wounds to prevent exacerbation of pressure ulcers.

Mobility and Activities of Daily Living Support

• Deliver simple exercises and help with ambulation.
• Accompany clients to social gatherings, hospitals, treatment facilities, and outdoors.

Coordination and Communication

• Coordinate services and act as liaison between treating physician and other personnel regarding changes in client condition.
• Counsel clients and families in meeting nursing and related needs.
• Supervise and teach other nursing personnel.
• Participate in in-service programs.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country.

Experience

• 2 to 5 years working experience as Registered Nurse.

Certification and Licensure

• Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment.
• Eligible for DOH, DHA, or MOH licensing.
• Active Basic Life Support training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical care qualification.
• Pediatric qualification (for pediatrics RN).
• ACLS (for adult patients).
• PALS (for pediatric patients).
• Teaching and assessing qualification.
