Registered Nurse

Role Overview

Registered Nurse at NMC Healthcare. The post holder will work within the scope of practice, putting the health, wellbeing and safety of their patient first as they assess, plan, implement and evaluate their needs.

Role Purpose

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care under the indirect supervision of senior nursing staff while upholding professional standards, patient safety and the reputation of the nursing profession.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Assessment

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs and programmes of care.
• Manage deteriorating patients without delay using the Early Warning System escalation process and American Heart Association emergency algorithms.
• Ensure timely expert advice or senior nursing support is sought when a patient's condition fails to respond to prescribed treatment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Clinical Practice & Competence

• Refuse to undertake any task for which you have not been trained and are not competent to undertake.
• Seek expert help when the demand of care, service or skill falls outside your capabilities.
• Delegate tasks only to team members who are trained, skilled and competent to undertake such tasks.
• Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.

Professional Development & Governance

• Manage your own professional re-licensure in a timely manner.
• Comply with all aspects of the UAE Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice and licensure as per the regulator.
• Assist in updating clinical policies and guidelines in line with skill and experience.
• Contribute to the professional development of colleagues through engagement and support.

Professional Conduct & Leadership

• Uphold the reputation of the nursing profession at all times.
• Act as a positive role model for all nursing and support staff.
• Demonstrate insight of your own behaviour and in others.
• Work across departments when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all qualifications and experience these mandates require.

Additional Information

• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card required.
