Role Purpose

Oversee the maintenance, performance, and optimization of vessels and related floating equipment in the Middle East Region. Ensure all assets are managed cost-effectively, safely, and in full compliance with international regulations, company policies, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Asset & Budget Management

• Develop, implement, and oversee multi-annual vessel budgets covering maintenance, repairs, dry-dockings, overhauls, insurance, and fuel and lubricant costs to ensure effective fleet management.
• Ensure that all vessels are maintained in a safe and fit-for-purpose condition to achieve optimal utilization and operational reliability.

Maintenance & Technical Operations

• Supervise and ensure the proper planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, dry-dockings, modifications, and technical projects within budget and in accordance with company standards.
• Conduct or oversee regular vessel inspections to monitor condition, compliance, and performance against company standards.
• Maintain accurate vessel documentation, technical records, and reports in line with company procedures and requirements.

Project Management & Compliance

• Monitor and guide the application of effective project management techniques, ensuring high-quality reporting and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Promote and enforce safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards, review incidents, and ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Provide direction, support, and technical guidance to Contract and Operations Managers to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient vessel operations.
• Engage with clients and charter representatives to maintain strong working relationships, ensure operational compliance, and identify business development opportunities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the regional technical team, ensuring high performance, professional growth, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Commercial Support

• Provide technical and operational input during tendering processes to support the commercial team in securing new business.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maritime Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture (Maritime Officer HWTK preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of technical management experience in an international maritime environment.
• Experience working in the Middle East and Indian subcontinent (MEIS) region.
• Preferably seagoing experience as Chief Engineer or First Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of vessel engineering, maintenance systems, and onboard practices.
• Proven leadership and management skills with experience in defining and maintaining technical standards and procedures.

Skills & Competencies

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
