Role Overview
Recreation Attendant at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, a global luxury hotel and resort brand rooted in Thai culture. The resort is located in Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate of the UAE, approximately 45 minutes from Dubai.

Role Purpose
To participate in the smooth running of the Sports & Recreations department on a daily basis to achieve the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction, while ensuring all activities are performed safely and creating unique, engaging experiences that serve as a competitive advantage for the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Activity Management
- Participate in the smooth running of the Sports & Recreations department on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction.
- Create new, unique, and interesting activities that draw upon the best cultural, sporting, or other offerings of the area in which the hotel is located.
- Help make the sports and leisure offering a point of competitive advantage for the hotel.
- Ensure outsourced service provides maintenance standards.
- Monitor the success of activity programs through the number of participants per scheduled event and through guests' feedback.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain top quality, fun-filled, and original programs for hotel guests.
- Execute the Minor Hotels Children programme.
Health & Safety
- Lead the implementation of all health and safety codes in the sports and leisure activities of the hotel.
- Take full and complete care of children.
- Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment using proper safety techniques.
- Use qualified attendants in all areas where relevant qualifications are required, including Fitness Leader, Aerobic Instructors, and Lifeguard.
- Have knowledge of basic safety procedures and the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
Knowledge & Information
- Have a complete knowledge of the products and services offered by the hotel, in particular all the sports and leisure activities and equipment in the hotel.
- Prepare and circulate clear information to guests of the events offered by the hotel in conjunction with the Minor Hotels Concierge.
- Provide guests and members with skills, knowledge, and motivation to achieve and maintain exercise-related fitness goals in the gym.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Keep all equipment clean and well maintained in gym area, sport activities, water sports, and other in-house activities.
- Have basic knowledge of recreational equipment and facility maintenance.
Guest Experience & Revenue
- Work closely to promote the Spa offering to ensure that we maximize guest satisfaction and hotel revenue by enabling our guests to experience the spa.
- Drive revenues for the department.
Fitness Tracking & Records
- In the gym, develop and maintain a file system to ensure record of guests' information for proper follow-up on fitness goal progress.
Finance
- Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed when collecting or charging fees for Sports & Recreations.
Collaboration & Flexibility
- Develop and maintain a strong working environment with the other departments.
- Be prepared to assume other Sports & Recreations duties or responsibilities as requested by management.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in recreation.
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures and the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Ability to work effectively with other staff members.
Skills & Competencies
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to assist guests professionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and participate in or supervise recreational activities.
- Excellent English; additional languages can be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of recreational equipment and facility maintenance.
