Role Overview
R&D Intern at Prysmian Group. As part of the technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring appropriate cable designs for each project, considering OCI's needs and capabilities alongside customer requirements.
Role Purpose
Support the technical team in designing cables that meet customer specifications and OCI's strategic objectives. Deliver technical documentation and design solutions throughout the commercial enquiry lifecycle, from pre-order through post-order phases.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Enquiry & Design
- Understand technical requirements of customers in terms of cable specifications and design cables according to project requirements.
- Analyze customer needs with respect to OCI's product range and provide feedback.
- Design cables in accordance with parameters provided by applicable standards, customers, and OCI.
- Support OCI's strategic goals and department KPI.
Pre-Order Support
- Support the Commercial team in timely response to customer enquiries.
- Issue SAP codes, technical documents including Datasheet (TDS) and Cable Drawings (AutoCAD & SolidWorks).
- Issue Clarification-deviation sheets.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and TDS.
- Verify BOM and TDS against specification calculations and manufacturing values.
- Prepare CA Items and verify against specification design guidelines and manufacturing instructions.
Post-Order Support
- Ensure final item codes, special instructions, and other technical information are provided as per final approved documents.
Database & Documentation
- Review and issue Cable Datasheet, Cross-sectional Drawings, and BOM in OCI standard format.
- Maintain commonly asked Clarification and Deviation lists.
- Document Deviation points to comply with for future enquiries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of cable design tools.
