Quantity Surveyor (Water Infrastructure - Post Tender)

Role Overview

Quantity Surveyor (Water Infrastructure - Post Tender) with Al Shirawi Group. This is a post-tender quantity surveying role focused on water infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose

To manage financial aspects of water infrastructure construction projects during execution, ensuring fair contractor payments, cost control, contract compliance, and successful project financial closeout.

Key Responsibilities

Valuations and Payments

• Prepare and certify monthly Interim Payment Applications (IPA) based on actual contractor progress.
• Ensure contractors are paid fairly according to contract terms and demonstrated work completion.

Variation Management

• Assess financial impact of scope changes and design variations.
• Negotiate variation costs with contractors and stakeholders.

Cost Control and Reporting

• Monitor project expenditure against approved budget.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monthly cost reports.
• Submit cost reports to stakeholders on schedule.

Contract Administration

• Administer main contract terms, typically under FIDIC conditions common in the UAE.
• Manage contractual correspondence with all parties.

Claims and Disputes

• Review and respond to contractor claims for extensions of time and loss and expense.
• Manage dispute resolution processes.

Final Account Settlement

• Negotiate final project costs with all parties upon infrastructure completion.
• Finalize total account settlement documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in post-tender phase.
• Proven experience in Infrastructure Construction Projects covering Civil, Deep, and Shallow infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in Water Infrastructure projects including at least 2 of the following: Potable Water, Stormwater, Sewerage, Dams, Reservoirs, Pipelines, Treatment Plants.
