Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor at Nova Construction for the Al-Jurf project, based in the UAE. Role Purpose

The Quantity Surveyor supports precise cost management and commercial control throughout all construction stages, ensuring accurate quantification, comprehensive documentation, and cost tracking on villa compounds and mid/high-rise building packages.

Key Responsibilities

Measurement & Quantification

• Conduct site measurements of completed works throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain updated measurement sheets and quantity baselines.
• Prepare and update Bills of Quantities and cost plans.

Valuations & Payments

• Support monthly valuations and subcontractor payment applications.
• Prepare client IPC documentation.

Commercial Control & Documentation

• Identify and flag drawing or scope discrepancies.
• Coordinate with engineering and site teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Track variations and claims with maintained change logs.
• Coordinate with procurement and site teams on quantities, materials, and cost impacts.
• Maintain strong documentation hygiene through organized records, logs, and correspondence support.

Reporting & Analysis

• Assist the Senior QS with commercial reporting and cost predictability.
• Maintain data integrity across ongoing works.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (Sri Lankan degree preferred).
• 7–10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor (minimum 7 years required).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong capability in measurement and quantification.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and QS software.
• Basic working knowledge of FIDIC, especially clauses relating to payments, variations, and claims.
• Understanding of cost control principles and documentation standards.
• Strong numeracy and analytical ability.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and coordination with site, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Ability to maintain organized, audit-ready documentation.

Additional Information

• Abu Dhabi Municipality certification (if applicable).
