Role Overview

Quality Officer-Risk Management & Patient Safety Improvement at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

Role Purpose

Implement and coordinate quality management and quality improvement processes under managerial guidance. Establish effective and efficient quality data and performance management programs to improve patient outcomes and safety. Monitor and maintain regulatory and accreditation standards across all operational aspects.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Improvement Program Development

• Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of the facility's overall quality improvement program across sections.
• Identify quality improvement methodology and concepts to be followed in coordination with management direction.
• Contribute to the development of tools and resources to support the quality development program.
• Facilitate ongoing support to quality teams.

Departmental Collaboration & Support

• Partner with all departments and practices to ensure quality and safety priorities are implemented.
• Participate in departmental feedback meetings to provide solutions.
• Assist departments with project timelines and coordinate needed internal support.
• Facilitate committees and taskforces related to quality improvement and assure that recommendations and suggestions are carried out and evaluated.

Performance & Data Management

• Manage a reliable process of data collection, robust validation, and analysis to improve the efficiency of care delivery.
• Ensure all documents are in the appropriate format with validated data.
• Develop project timelines and coordinate and ensure timelines are being met.
• Monitor action plan development and progress to ensure closing the loop.

Policy & Governance

• Coordinate the development and implementation of facility-wide policies and procedures that guide and support service provision under managerial guidance.
• Comply consistently with facility policies, procedures, and practices and ensure alignment with SSMC facilities policies.
• Liaison with accreditation bodies for implementation of programs.

Risk & Performance Improvement

• Facilitate and suggest improvements based on hospital-wide performance measures or other issues as requested by senior management.
• Ensure quality and safety strategies and priorities are implemented.
• Escalate identified challenges to Manager or Senior Quality Officer.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain quality management documents, case files, and correspondence in an organized, confidential, and secure manner.
• Complete and maintain regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established timeframes.
• Maintain confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in accordance with facility policy.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as quality, performance management, or clinical practice.

Desired

• Experience in a large healthcare facility.
• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
