Quality Inspector (E&I)

Role Overview

Quality Inspector (E&I) at McDermott. This role applies conceptual knowledge of inspection and, with moderate guidance from colleagues and leadership, solves a range of straightforward inspection problems while building knowledge of company processes and customers.

Role Purpose

Determine product conformity to customer specifications and project requirements through daily surveillances and inspection & test plan points. Identify non-conformity, drive rectification, and ensure final resolution by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and established precedents.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Conformity

• Determine product conformity to customer specifications through daily surveillances and ITP inspection points in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
• Appraise product quality to determine conformity and non-conformity in accordance with approved drawings and inspection & Test Plan.
• Identify non-conformity for rectification and ensure final resolution.

Documentation & Corrective Action

• Document all inspection results in accordance with project requirements.
• Raise documentation to establish corrective action when non-conformity exists.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate interface with Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, Job Sharing personnel, and subcontractor, assuring conformity to project specifications.
• Liaise with customer representatives, ensuring product conformity and stage release for each activity denoted within the Project Quality Plan/ITP.

Problem Prevention

• Exercise a proactive approach to problem prevention by interacting with Production, Engineers, and Management personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or degree in relevant field of study.
• 5+ years of Quality Control or discipline-related experience with a degree.
• 8+ years of Quality Control or discipline-related experience with a diploma.
• Proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft programs.
