Role Overview
Quality Control Supervisor - Manufacturing & Rotating Equipment at Baker Hughes. Role Purpose
Supervise quality inspection operations and lead manufacturing quality initiatives to ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across production cells and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and guide quality inspectors.
- Assign tasks, monitor daily activities, and ensure team productivity.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the completeness and on-time delivery of quality records according to applicable requirements.
- Implement Quality Control processes effectively.
- Monitor quality control metrics for observations and punch list items identified during execution phases and take appropriate corrective actions.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Attend pre-inspection meetings with customers.
- Attend and manage punch list closure meetings with customers.
Operations & Production Partnership
- Partner with the production team to assure cell operations are smooth and in compliance with all applicable procedures.
Quality Improvement & Problem-Solving
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) related to manufacturing quality issues.
- Drive cross-functional improvement projects of operational processes using lean methods aimed at flawless execution and elimination of waste tied to escaping defects and observations/punch list metrics.
- Lead quality toolbox awareness sessions for the production team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing and rotating equipment.
- Experience leading a team of quality inspectors.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor Certification.
