QHSE Engineer

Role Overview

QHSE Engineer with Al Shirawi Group, LAC Qatar Service department at Leminar Air Conditioning Industries LLC. The role focuses on ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across projects.

Role Purpose

The QHSE Engineer implements and monitors health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plans and requirements. The role is critical to conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance, delivering HSE inductions and safety programs, and investigating incidents to maintain a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Planning

• Implement and oversee the Project HSE Plan and client HSE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and safe work procedures.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.

Inspections & Risk Assessment

• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Develop safety protocols based on thorough risk assessments.

Training & Awareness

• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programs.

Incident Management

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Recommend corrective actions following incidents.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, project management, and subcontractors on HSE matters.
• Stop unsafe work practices to protect personnel, property, and the environment.

Emergency Preparedness

• Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar QHSE role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
• Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop safety protocols.
• Proficiency in HSE management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Additional Information

• Valid driving license required.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
