Role Overview
QC Supervisor - Welding at Samsung E&A, located in Fadhili, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
Plan and control quality activities in welding disciplines in accordance with the quality management system. Supervise inspectors, manage welding procedures and certifications, perform inspections and tests, and drive continuous quality improvement across fabrication and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Procedure Development & Management
- Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Brazing Procedure Specification (BPS) along with supporting Procedure Qualification Record (PQR).
- Prepare and review all welding-related procedures for company approval, including shop and field fabrication procedures, welding consumable handling and storage procedures, weld repair procedures, back purging procedures, and gap control procedures.
Certification & Performance Monitoring
- Register welder certifications and monitor quality programs to ensure welder certification and performance are maintained in accordance with governing codes and standards.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review project weld status reports, welder repair rate reports, welder repair assessments, tracer reports, weld summaries, welder performance reports and NDT tracking system reports for weekly submission to the company.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on weld repairs, identify findings, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Quality Oversight & Compliance
- Lead focus assessments and quality walkthroughs at site with subcontractor QC and construction personnel to improve quality awareness.
- Monitor and close NCRs, LBEs and violations by evaluating root cause and implementing corrective and preventive actions agreed by all involved parties.
- Perform document review, inspection and testing functions to verify subcontractor compliance with requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Lead and conduct internal audits to ensure that Quality Management Systems are being implemented effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree with a total of seven (7) years of experience in inspection, or high school diploma with a total of ten (10) years of experience in inspection.
- Minimum three (3) years of direct experience supervising construction activities in contract scope of work, such as oil, gas, petrochemical projects, infrastructure or communications.
- Certification as an American Welding Society CWI, CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector, or company-approved equivalent.
- Demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes including ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME Section V and IX, API 620 and 650, and AWS D1.1.
- When Nondestructive Testing (NDT) forms part of the work and the inspector is required to review or ensure NDT programs and results, previous qualification and certification to a minimum ASNT Level II in the relevant method(s).
- When performing, reviewing or ensuring Nondestructive Testing in VT, MT, PT, RT or UT, certification in the specific method(s).
- When performing, reviewing or ensuring Radiographic Testing Film Interpretation (RTFI), certification in RTFI.
- Aramco experience is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical knowledge in welding discipline and familiarity with related international codes and standards.
- Investigate and analyze quality issues based on related international codes and standards to suggest resolution.
- Establish processes and systems utilizing FMCS and SCMS to enable systematic quality control and conduct training for operation.
- Capability to establish and implement quality systems for small-scale projects (below 0.5 billion dollars).
