Role Overview

QC Supervisor - Steel Structure at Samsung E&A. This is a quality control supervisory position responsible for overseeing steel structure inspection and quality activities on capital projects.

Role Purpose

Supervise quality control activities in steel structure disciplines in accordance with the quality management system established by the QC Manager. Plan, control and perform inspections and tests while managing inspectors responsible for assigned disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management and Oversight

• Monitor work performance according to risk management results.
• Manage work performance on particular discipline as per applicable work process.
• Track actual results of Quality Performance Indicator.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks.

Inspections and Testing

• Plan, control and perform inspections and tests on assigned disciplines.
• Conduct audits and inspections.
• Apply quality control and inspection techniques for steel structures.

Discipline-Specific Operations

• Apply structural engineering principles and practices.
• Oversee design and construction of steel structures.
• Implement steel structure codes and standards (e.g. AISC).
• Demonstrate understanding of steel structure drawings and specifications.
• Develop discipline knowledge and experience in process structures, pipe racks, platforms and offshore structures.

Coordination and Problem Resolution

• Coordinate and monitor with other disciplines to provide corrective action.
• Liaise and resolve with clients on quality-related matters including Quality Issues, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and Observations.

Systems and Documentation

• Manage work activity through system management tools (FMCS, SCMS).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field.
• 10+ years of direct work experience in inspection of capital projects quality.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards and medium to large-sized project experience.
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plants.
• Engineering and Construction Company working experience in GCC.
