Role Overview

QC Inspector - PWHT at Samsung E&A. This is a quality control inspection role focused on Post-Weld Heat Treatment activities within a specialized engineering, procurement, and construction company.

Role Purpose

To perform quality control inspection activities in accordance with the established quality management system, ensuring all work conforms to project requirements and international codes and standards through systematic inspection planning, execution, and status monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Planning & Documentation

• Establish inspection and test plans and record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Prepare and review quality procedure documents submitted by subcontractors, including Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR).
• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required, providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.

PWHT Inspection & Monitoring

• Manage and perform inspection of PWHT activities.
• Monitor Pre-Heat and PWHT of welded joints.
• Review charts of Post Weld Heat Treated (PWHT) joints.
• Perform and coordinate inspection with client.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Perform quality activities in accordance with the quality management system established.
• Carry out inspections to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and record results.
• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
• Control and apply practical inspection processes for the discipline based on project requirements and international codes.

Personnel & Contractor Management

• Ensure all personnel employed and operating in PWHT activities are duly skilled and qualified in accordance with applicable specifications, codes and regulations as per client requirements.
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plans.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Total of seven (7) years of experience in inspection if holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or a total of ten (10) years of experience in inspection if holding a high school diploma.
• Three (3) years of experience relating to supervision of construction activities in the Contract Scope of Work, such as oil, gas and petrochemical projects, Infrastructure, and communication.
• Demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes including ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME Section V and IX, API 620 and 650, AWS D1.1.
