Role Overview
QC Inspector - Piping (Plumbing) at Samsung E&A. This position is based on-site within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project environment.

Role Purpose
The QC Inspector - Piping (Plumbing) ensures that all piping and plumbing work conforms to corporate and project quality standards through systematic inspections, testing oversight, and compliance documentation. This role is critical to maintaining site quality and preventing non-conformances that could affect project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Inspections & Testing
- Perform inspections on piping and plumbing disciplines and record results on established forms per Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
- Conduct surveillance to verify that tests are performed in accordance with international codes and standards.
- Execute inspections and testing of piping and plumbing systems.
- Prepare hydrostatic test packages and control procedures.
Quality Documentation & Reporting
- Update inspection status using systematic tools such as inspection matrices.
- Prepare inspection records for reflection on Master Change Documents (MC Doc).
- Report nonconformities and observations found during inspections to QC Supervisors and QC Managers.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) under direction of QC Supervisor or QC Manager.
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required, providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
Material & Submittal Management
- Prepare, review and track material submittals required for the discipline.
- Review and track material submittals and Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate inspections with client inspectors.
- Demonstrate good communication skills with project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in inspection, OR high school diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in inspection.
- Minimum three (3) years of direct experience supervising construction activities in the Contract Scope of Work, such as oil, gas, petrochemical projects, infrastructure or communication sectors.
- Thorough knowledge of piping and plumbing in Pipelines, process vessels, storage tanks, piping racks and pipe bridges.
Skills & Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of piping and plumbing materials, fittings and connections.
- Knowledge of piping codes and standards including ASME B31.3, API 570, Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), IPC, ASME 31.9, NFPA 13, 14, 20, 99, IBC, UFC and/or equivalent standards.
- Expertise in piping and plumbing fabrication and installation methods and techniques.
- Proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques for piping and plumbing.
- Understanding of piping and plumbing documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in inspection techniques and tools, material testing methods and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
