Role Purpose

The QC Inspector - Electrical performs quality control activities in accordance with the established quality management system, ensuring all electrical installations and testing comply with project specifications, codes and international standards. The role ensures inspection status is controlled through systematic tools, manages corrective and preventive actions, and coordinates with clients throughout the project lifecycle from construction to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Planning & Procedures

• Establish inspection and test plans and record forms according to project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Implement the company inspection Test Plan, Inspection checklist, Material System specification, Engineering Procedure and Standards as per Project Quality Contract.
• Establish Quality Procedures and review Construction Method Statements prior to company submission.
• Set and apply practical inspection processes for electrical discipline based on project requirements and International Codes, providing ITP and managing inspection matrices.
• Monitor that relevant Method Statements, Inspection Test Plans and Procedures align with the Project Quality Plan and are followed throughout the Project Life Cycle.

Quality Control & Monitoring

• Perform quality activities in accordance with the quality management system.
• Manage and perform inspection of electrical discipline.
• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrices.
• Monitor electrical and instrumentation field inspection and violations including Quality Observation Reports, Log Book Entries and NCRs to verify corrective action is implemented on site within target dates and preventive action is observed to avoid repeating violations.
• Control quality violations through regular toolbox talks with the construction team.
• Carry out QC Supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
• Ensure to apply lessons learned and proper preventive action is conducted.

Compliance & Field Monitoring

• Monitor that IFC drawings are used and followed on site for construction activity.
• Monitor that correct materials are being used and all required inspections are carried out prior to issuance for installation.
• Monitor proper and correct handling, storage and preservation of equipment and materials, ensuring vendor instructions are followed from delivery on project site until pre-commissioning stage.
• Monitor that all installations and testing conducted comply with project specification requirements, codes and standard requirements to avoid rejection and punch list items.

Material & Submittals Management

• Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conducting visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
• Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
• Prepare and review Quality procedure documents submitted by Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
• Review and track material submittals required for Electrical Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
• Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Electrical Definable Features of Work.

Inspection & Testing Coordination

• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
• Prepare, review and approve related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
• Monitor and review the preparation of loop folders and progress of loop checking.
• Prepare and review Energization Package and Motor Solo Run Packages prior to company submission.
• Witness testing and functional inspection of Switchgear, Control gear, Power Transformer and Dry Type Transformer with client.
• Witness MV power cable termination, splicing and testing with client.
• Witness Motor no load test with client.
• Witness installation and testing of Cathodic Protection system, Heat tracing Fire alarm and Telecommunication system with client.

Nonconformance Management

• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plans.
• Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations to determine solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School graduate or higher education.
• Overall experience of 5 years.
• Experience in Inspection Specialty: 3 years.
• Experience in Contract Scope of Work: 2 years.
• Two (2) years documented experience in the field of cathodic protection for required specific applications.
• Aramco experience is required.
• CBT Pass is preferred for QC Inspector.
• Thorough working knowledge of the National Electric Code/NFPA 70, IEC or equivalent standards.
• Working knowledge of electrical installations including materials, methods, specifications, and hazardous location identification for oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
• Thorough working knowledge of international codes and standards related to inspecting Cathodic Protection Systems and its components, such as anode installation, cable installation, and positive and negative cable hookups to rectifier.
• Ability to interpret and assess cathodic protection design packages to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

• Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in electrical discipline.
• Ability to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
