Role Overview
QC Inspector – Civil – Project at ABIS. Field-based role performing inspection and testing of civil construction activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Role Purpose
To conduct in-process and final inspections on civil works, verify material and workmanship compliance, witness critical construction activities, and maintain comprehensive quality documentation to ensure all work meets approved specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing
- Perform in-process and final inspections on civil works including earthworks, formwork, rebar, and concrete.
- Witness concrete pours, compaction tests, and cube/cylinder sampling per the ITP.
- Verify formwork, rebar placement, and dimensions against approved civil drawings.
- Verify materials including concrete mix and rebar against material certificates and specifications.
- Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
Compliance & Documentation
- Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
- Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and civil codes.
- Support preparation of quality documentation for civil handover dossiers.
Coordination & Closeout
- Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
- Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for civil works.
Additional Information
- Field-based role requiring daily presence on active civil work fronts.
- Exposure to site and construction conditions.
- May require shift work or extended hours to cover inspection hold points.
- No supervisory responsibility.
- No financial or budget authority.
