Role Overview
QC Inspector - Civil at Samsung E&A. The position is based on construction project sites where the company executes engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations & maintenance services across oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition, environmental, industrial and bio sectors.

Role Purpose
Perform quality control inspection activities on civil discipline work to ensure all construction work conforms to quality requirements, project specifications, and international codes and standards. Manage the inspection process from project start to completion, control inspection status through systematic tools, and coordinate quality assurance across the civil scope of work.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Planning and Documentation
- Establish inspection and test plans and record forms according to project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Prepare, review and approve inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
- Review and track material submittals required for Civil Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
- Prepare and review Quality procedure documents submitted by Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
Inspection Execution and Monitoring
- Perform quality activities in accordance with the quality management system established.
- Manage and perform inspection of Civil discipline work.
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and record results.
- Monitor and inspect specific Civil related activities such as Compressive Strength Test, Soil Compaction, and on-site/off-site laboratory testing as required.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conducting visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
- Set and apply practical inspection processes for the particular discipline based on project requirements and International Codes.
Quality Control and Compliance
- Control inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plans.
- Control quality violations through regular toolbox talks with the construction team.
- Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figure out solutions.
- Ensure lessons learnt are applied and proper preventive action is conducted.
Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise, inspect and support Construction to proceed with related activities concerning the progress in accordance with project specification.
- Perform QC Supervisor's responsibility in their absence.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Civil Definable Features of Work.
- Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Civil Engineering major (minimum education level).
- Certificate related to Civil discipline.
- Construction experience in oil/gas/petrochemical/Building and Infrastructure as QC Inspector or Supervisor.
- Working experience in the Engineering and Construction Industries.
- Experience from project start to completion.
- Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
- Knowledgeable in field surveying and calculation.
- Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale projects (0.5–1.5 billion dollar).
