QA/QC Supervisor - Coating

Role Overview

QA/QC Supervisor - Coating at Samsung E&A. This position supervises quality activities in coating discipline in accordance with the quality management system established by the QC Manager.

Role Purpose

To supervise quality activities in coating discipline, plan and control inspections and tests, manage inspectors, monitor work performance against quality standards, and ensure compliance with the company's quality management system and applicable work processes.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Oversight

• Monitor work performance according to risk management results.
• Manage work performance on coating discipline as per applicable work process.
• Manage actual results of Quality Performance Indicator.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Conduct audits and inspections.

Team Management

• Manage inspectors in the coating discipline.
• Manage and motivate the team.

Coordination and Issue Resolution

• Coordinate and monitor with other disciplines to provide corrective action.
• Liaise and solve with clients on quality-related matters including Quality Issues, NCR, and Observations.

Systems and Documentation

• Manage work activity through system management tools (FMCS, SCMS).

Discipline-Specific Activities

• Demonstrate understanding of paint and coating materials.
• Apply surface preparation techniques.
• Perform coating application and inspection.
• Understand insulation materials and installation techniques.
• Apply quality control and inspection techniques for painting and insulation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field.
• 10+ years of direct work experience in inspection of capital projects quality.
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards and medium to large-sized project experience.
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plants.
• Engineering & Construction Company working experience in GCC.

• Discipline knowledge and experience in storage tanks, pipelines, process vessels, offshore structures, and structural steel.

Certifications Required

• Certification in NDT Level II or higher.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification.
• NACE-2 & BGAS-1.
