QA/QC Engineer -Mechanical (MEP)

Role Overview

QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (MEP) at Al Shirawi Group. This role oversees quality control and assurance processes for mechanical systems in MEP projects.

Role Purpose

Ensure that HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems are installed according to project specifications, codes, and industry standards throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Documentation & Approvals

• Review and approve method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals for mechanical systems.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and as-built records.
• Assist in preparing final project handover documentation.

Inspections & Testing

• Perform inspections and tests on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting installations.
• Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
• Monitor work progress to ensure timely completion of quality inspections and tests.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant standards.

Non-Conformity Management

• Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Coordination & Audits

• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and relevant construction standards.
• Inspection and testing methodologies.
• Quality documentation and record-keeping.
• Stakeholder coordination and communication.
