Role Overview

Psychologist at University of Kalba. The role provides psychological counseling and mental health support services to university students, promotes student well-being, and assists students in adapting to university life while overcoming psychological, social, and academic challenges to support their academic achievement and personal development.

Role Purpose

Deliver comprehensive psychological counseling and mental health support that enables students to overcome barriers to their academic success and personal growth, while fostering a campus environment that prioritizes mental well-being and psychological resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Counseling & Support Services

• Provide individual and group psychological counseling sessions for students.
• Assess students' psychological and behavioral conditions using approved professional methods and assessment tools.
• Develop appropriate counseling and treatment plans and monitor their implementation.
• Provide psychological support to students experiencing academic, social, family, or mental health challenges.

Crisis Management

• Manage emergency and psychological crisis cases in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
• Refer cases requiring specialized intervention to appropriate medical or therapeutic providers in coordination with the relevant department.

Health Promotion & Prevention

• Design and deliver awareness programs and workshops on mental health promotion and the prevention of behavioral and psychological issues.
• Participate in planning and implementing campaigns and initiatives that promote quality of life and mental well-being across the university campus.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with colleges and academic departments to provide appropriate support for students with special psychological needs.
• Participate in relevant committees, student activities, and university events.

Reporting & Professional Development

• Prepare periodic reports and statistical data related to counseling cases and psychological services provided.
• Stay up to date with current professional practices and developments in counseling and mental health.
• Maintain the confidentiality of student information and adhere to professional ethics and standards.

General Duties

• Perform any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in psychological counseling or student support services, preferably within a higher education institution.
• Professional licensure or certification in counseling or psychotherapy is preferred.
