Role Purpose

Lead and coordinate dedicated project teams in the delivery of complex, strategic global projects spanning sales, engineering, procurement, quality, Projects/EPC Key Account Managers, and customers/OEMs. Act as John Crane's single point of contact to support customers from post-order activity through project delivery and resolution of post-delivery issues.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and coordinate dedicated project teams across multiple functions and geographies.
• Lead frequent team calls to support project execution.
• Empower project team members to make quick decisions to keep projects on track.
• Act as John Crane's single point of contact to support the customer for post-order activity through to project delivery.
• Coordinate the resolution of any technical or commercial conflicts which may arise at any stage.

Risk Management & Decision Making

• Perform project risk evaluation throughout the entire project lifetime.
• Identify issues jeopardizing successful project completion at an early stage and initiate corrective actions.
• Make quick decisions regarding complex project issues, reducing risk to John Crane and the customer.
• Develop specific project plans to ensure successful delivery.

Stakeholder & Customer Communication

• Maintain communication channels with the client.
• Agree communication channels with the customer in relation to the different project aspects.
• Manage timely and effective communication with regional stakeholders to ensure effective coordination.
• Regularly communicate with involved parties and keep constant, updated communication with various senior-level project management.
• Attend clarification and kick-off meetings and prepare and distribute relevant activity reports.
• Coordinate any post-delivery issue resolution.

Schedule & Budget Management

• Fulfil customer contracts regarding deadlines, costs, and objectives.
• Monitor project budgets closely.
• Create and maintain detailed execution schedules for each major project in your portfolio.
• In conjunction with manufacturing operations, ensure the project is completed per the agreed customer schedule and budget.
• Develop and execute solutions when issues arise that might jeopardize schedule or budget objectives.

Procurement & Supply Chain

• Work with global and local procurement to ensure pre-procurement of long lead items is performed.
• Maintain and manage inventory.
• Ensure suppliers are performing to expectations.

Quality & Compliance

• Manage quality incidents through eQMS and work closely with assigned incident managers to close incidents in time.
• Ensure RCA/8Ds are available where applicable.
• Support ISO IQMs compliance.
• Support SES initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

• Record project milestones and maintain records of project correspondence.
• Produce project close-out summaries, including cost analysis.
• Provide monthly reports on project status.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

• Support coordination of customer change requests to ensure optimal solutions for successful project delivery.
• Support process streamlining activities.

Additional Duties

• Other project delivery initiative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree educated in a technical discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience in Project Management, preferably in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical projects business.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable credential preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to read, interpret, and explain complex project specifications.
• Ability to achieve agreed goals and objectives by constantly focusing on a set of priorities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Proper understanding of basic finance.
• Strong facilitation skills and experience operating in a matrix environment.
• Adept at swiftly reaching solutions and building consensus under tight deadlines.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, including MS Project.
• Preferred experience with Project Lifecycle Management tools such as Teamcenter.
• Strong level of cultural awareness and capability to adapt behavior accordingly.
• Fluent in English.
