Role Overview

Role Purpose

Take the helm of design-build theme park show projects, ensuring seamless integration of project development and execution processes while managing show-related timelines, budgets, teams, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Documentation

• Define show-related project timeline, draft EOIs, PQQs, RFPs and other proposals.
• Establish budgets and maintain show-related documentation throughout project lifecycle.

Team & Resource Coordination

• Coordinate internal teams and external resources, communicating guidelines and deadlines clearly, effectively and consistently.
• Coordinate internal teams to delegate and prioritize tasks.
• Conduct status updates and check-ins with individual team members to ensure completion of tasks.
• Manage a team to deliver results.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Manage client and IP relationships throughout project lifecycle.
• Uphold high standards for individual contributors, holding everyone accountable for their deadlines.
• Assess risk throughout project lifecycle and anticipate internal, external and client needs.
• Readily implement issue resolution with project stakeholders.
• Bring stakeholders together around a common vision.

Reporting & Progress Tracking

• Provide regular show project status check-ins, progress tracking and updates on deliverables with internal teams, external resources, clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Arts degree in performing arts or similar related field, preferred.
• Higher National Diploma in set design, performing arts or a related field, minimum.
• 10 years of experience in set design, show production or similar, leading complex projects from initiation to closure within show and entertainment environment, preferably in a theme park or similar location-based entertainment field.
• Prior experience managing a show team.
• In-depth knowledge of show and entertainment design, engineering, and safety standards preferred.
• Understanding of water-based shows and technologies.
• Understanding of AV, projection mapping, SFX and show control delivery.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously well regarded.
• PMP or other relevant project management certification such as Prince2, Agile, etc. desirable but not a requirement.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification well regarded but not a requirement.

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to manage show and entertainment project scope, schedule, budget, and resources effectively utilizing appropriate digital tools.
• Proficient use of enterprise-level management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Aconex or similar systems.
• Excellent understanding of scripts, show technologies, media and show control.
• Strong written and verbal skills in English.
• Proficiency in Japanese and/or Arabic languages highly regarded but not essential.
• Proactive with drive for delivery.
• Strong training capabilities to foster professional development of junior colleagues.
• Effectively manages and prioritizes workload and delivers to tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across multiple departments.
