Role Overview
Project Manager at Bapco Energies. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact IT projects across the organization.
Role Purpose
This role is essential for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the strategic objectives of Bapco Energies. The Project Manager will closely coordinate with the enterprise architect, process architect, information architect, and business units to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Leadership
- Lead the development of comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Ensure that project plans align with the strategic goals of Bapco Energies and support the overall business strategy.
Execution & Delivery
- Take full ownership of the execution of IT projects, managing project teams, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor project progress, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed, with minimal supervision.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with key stakeholders, including the enterprise architect, process architect, information architect, and business units, to communicate project status, risks, and issues.
- Provide regular updates and reports to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and addressed.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of risks on project delivery and change implementation.
- Make strategic decisions to navigate challenges.
Budget Oversight
- Manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within financial constraints.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, making strategic adjustments as necessary.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Implement quality control processes and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the project management function.
- Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Reporting
- Prepare and present regular reports on activities and KPIs to senior management.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of total work experience in the IT industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT project management or a related role within the energy sector.
- Professional certifications such as Prosci or PMP are preferred.
