Role Overview
Project Lead Engineer – Primary at Hitachi Energy Ltd, based in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. Full-time position.

Role Purpose
Design, communicate, and implement operational plans for engineering-based projects. Lead technical delivery of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) solutions from tendering through execution, ensuring timely, cost-effective completion while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Planning
- Lead all engineering activities of the project and overall responsibility for managing project delivery.
- Prepare operational plans including designs, project controls, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Adhere to the detailed project plan to meet on-time delivery.
Design & Technical Delivery
- Prepare primary drawings and Bill of Quantities for engineered items of Gas Insulated Switchgears.
- Prepare engineering standards, designs, and work specifications.
- Prepare specifications and review and preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current Transformers and Voltage Transformers.
- Select materials and equipment appropriate to project requirements.
- Develop optimized solutions aligned with customer and Hitachi Energy technical requirements to reduce lead time and cost of the offered GIS solution.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Lead and attend discussions with customers, handle site queries, and take necessary actions.
- Participate in customer meetings as required.
- Provide technical support for tendering and execution of Customer projects.
- Interface with civil, steel, and application engineers on systems and solutions from Hitachi Energy and external EPC companies.
Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination
- Check supplier offers and coordinate with Supply Chain Management for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Select project staff and external contractors.
Progress Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
- Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
- Ensure quality of deliverable as top priority.
- Review deliverables before submission to client.
Team Development & Support
- Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
- Help apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams with design questions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) roles.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic language.
