Role Purpose

The Project Engineer provides remote technical support for small-scale and less complex tenders, projects, and designs, as well as portions of medium- to complex projects. The role ensures projects meet agreed requirements including safety, quality, time, budget, and legal regulations, while enabling personal and professional growth through work on unique and complex infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Solutions

• Draft specifications and procedures independently for tenders, projects, and designs within set frameworks and customer and contract requirements to achieve optimal project results.
• Design and develop new technical solutions that meet all requirements.
• Offer alternative solutions to the customer and minimize risks.

Scope & Supervision

• Determine the scope of engineering work for small projects and less complex technical tenders or parts of complex projects, including personnel, planning, and budgeting.
• Supervise and assess the work of colleagues, subcontractors, and customers to ensure tenders, projects, and designs are carried out in accordance with requirements.

Reporting & Monitoring

• Report progress regarding small projects and less complex technical tenders (or parts of complex projects) to internal and external customers.
• Identify deviations in time, demand for engineering capacity, quality, or costs compared to planning, requirements, and budget on a timely basis.

Execution Support & Improvement

• Assist and advise in the execution of tenders and projects, sometimes on location.
• Provide logistical support.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures.
• Evaluate the engineering process.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience at an infrastructure contractor.
• Experience with relevant working methods, techniques, and professional software and models.
• Relevant experience with project management.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of CAD, QGIS, and Excel software required.
• Proficiency in Primavera (planning software), relaitics, and systems engineering.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
