Role Overview
Project Control Manager at Wood PLC. The role leads and manages project controls activities for major Oil & Gas projects.

Role Purpose
Establish and maintain effective project control systems covering planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, reporting, and risk management across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Lead the overall Project Controls function, ensuring effective integration of planning, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, baselines, milestones, critical paths, and recovery plans.
- Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify schedule slippage, trends, and potential delays.
Cost Control & Forecasting
- Manage cost control, including budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, forecasts, and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Establish and monitor progress measurement systems and ensure accurate reporting of physical progress.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review weekly and monthly project control reports, dashboards, forecasts, and management presentations.
- Provide project management with accurate and timely information to support decision-making.
Risk Management
- Identify schedule and cost risks and work with project teams to develop appropriate mitigation and recovery actions.
Progress Monitoring
- Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and subcontractor progress against approved plans.
- Review contractor and subcontractor schedules, progress reports, forecasts, and performance.
Change Management
- Ensure effective change management, including assessment of schedule and cost impacts of variations and change orders.
Stakeholder Management & Compliance
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, Finance, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company project control procedures, contractual requirements, and client reporting standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the Project Controls team and promote a strong performance and reporting culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Project Controls, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong experience on Oil & Gas EPC and Lump Sum projects.
- Proven experience working across Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and project close-out phases.
- Strong understanding of engineering deliverables, procurement activities, construction execution, and their impact on project schedules and costs.
- Extensive experience with project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience managing project controls for large and complex projects with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of EPC contracting and Lump Sum contracting environments.
- Experience with change management, claims, schedule impact analysis, and recovery planning.
- Advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and strong proficiency in Excel and project reporting systems.

Additional Information
- Previous experience working in the UAE is desirable.
- Experience working on ADNOC projects or with ADNOC group companies and their project requirements is desirable.
- Experience with major UAE Oil & Gas operators, EPC contractors, or engineering consultancies is desirable.
- Familiarity with ADNOC project control, reporting, scheduling, and performance management requirements is desirable.
- Experience in managing projects with significant engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontracting interfaces is desirable.
