Role Overview
Project Assistant at Apparel Group. This position supports the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects with clearly defined deliverables, assisting in project management, vendor coordination, government approvals, and construction oversight while ensuring effective communication and seamless handover to the Operations Team upon completion.
Role Purpose
Support the Projects team in the successful delivery of retail store openings, refurbishments, and closures from initiation through handover, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and brand standards while maintaining clear documentation and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
- Assist the Projects team in the planning, coordination, and execution of new store openings, refurbishments, and closures.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Operations, Visual Merchandising, and IT teams for timely execution.
Tracking & Monitoring
- Track project schedules, material deliveries, vendor progress, and site readiness.
- Update trackers and prepare periodic reports on project status, delays, and completion metrics.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain project documentation including drawings, permits, contracts, and handover reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and brand standards during project execution.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Support the Project Managers in following up with landlords, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Assist in managing invoices, payments, and budgetary tracking for assigned projects.
Site Administration
- Conduct basic site visits, take measurements, or follow up on snagging and punch lists when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in retail project coordination, site administration, or support roles in construction or fit-out industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with project management tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
