Role Overview
Production Planning Engineer at Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi. Reports to the Lead Production Planning Engineer and ensures that safety, airworthiness and economic objectives are met efficiently using capacity planning tools.

Role Purpose
To adopt a proactive and integrated approach to capacity planning for Line and Light Maintenance departments, monitoring resource and facility requirements to cater to maintenance tasks in accordance with the approved AMP and Etihad Maintenance Policy.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Project Delivery
- Develop project plans to deliver business requirements as requested by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.
- Monitor and review the 14-day WLC to ensure all proposed plans are within capacity.
- Establish efficient and effective internal procedures including interfaces to support department objectives.
Capacity Planning & Resource Management
- Manage capacity planning tools to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to maintain aircraft serviceability and best Technical Dispatch Reliability.
- Review capacity trend for Line and Light maintenance on a monthly basis to evaluate resource requirements.
- Draft budget plans for additional resources as required.
- Provide assistance to other departments for capacity planning and forecasting of requirements.
Operations & Workflow
- Monitor processes within Technical Operations to provide seamless and efficient workflow.
- Manage the program to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved.
- Participate in event meetings and production meetings.
- Involve in decision-making process to cater to AOG or planned casualty input requirements over and above the 14-day WLC plan.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with stakeholders to arrange additional infrastructure and facilities including Hangar, Cranes, Dockings, Special Tools, and Parking bays in a timely manner to meet all maintenance demands from CAMO.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that all work performed at Etihad is completed in accordance with processes and procedures recorded on approved manuals and is done in a safe manner.
- Become familiar with, enforce and follow procedures stipulated in the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM).
- Become an active participant in the workplace safety program.
- Encourage colleagues and actively participate in the promotion of a positive reporting culture by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risks.
General
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or Diploma/Aircraft License with 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with maintenance forecasting tools and software; experience with AMOS is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, particularly in maintenance planning.
