Product Owner: Payments Experience

Role Overview

Product Owner: Payments Experience at Ziina, based in the UAE. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role responsible for owning the customer experience when sending and receiving payments at the core of the Ziina app.

Role Purpose

Define priorities, identify opportunities, scope work, and ship 10-star experiences that move the needle for users. You will be deep in the product, talking to users, defining behaviors, and shaping features based on first-principles thinking and user insights.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap

• Define your team's roadmap and success metrics to align with company goals.
• Monitor results frequently and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Propose bold ideas and create new concepts, always grounded in first-principles thinking, user personas, and JTBD.
• Apply strong business judgment to prioritize based on impact, ROI, and what matters most to users and the business.

User Research & Insights

• Understand your customers inside out and stay close to how people actually behave.
• Run research, watch sessions, and dig into the data to turn insights into product decisions.
• Demonstrate strong empathy for users and eagerness to go into the field, conduct user research, and run user testing.

Product Development & Execution

• Design and implement experiments, initiatives, and features from inception to launch.
• Conduct analyses, benchmark, put together hypotheses and requirements, and work closely with design and engineering teams.
• Develop, launch, and iterate initiatives based on results.
• Build a culture of fast iteration with quick and efficient turnaround of designing and shipping new experiences in an iterative and automated way.
• Harness the best AI tools to deliver more with less.
• Be biased to create new solutions and not re-implement established recipes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work alongside top-skilled people in the industry.
• Collaborate closely with every function, including engineering, design, marketing, fincrime, and operations.
• Align product goals with overall business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in a high-growth tech company or in a banking or finance-related area such as acquiring, payments, cryptocurrency, or trading.
• Higher-education degree in a STEM field.
• Strong analytical and technical acumen.
• Track record of leading product development from scratch, ideally in ambiguous or zero-to-one environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: have founded something, shipped your own product, or taken initiative to put a solution in front of real users.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent SQL skills and proficiency in conducting deep analyses.
• Ability to create order out of ambiguity, question assumptions, and apply first-principles thinking.
• Familiarity with Figma and design principles.
• Experience coding.
• Ability to use AI and automation tools to deliver more with less.

Additional Information

• Must live in, or be willing to move to, the UAE.
