Product Designer

Role Overview

Ziina is seeking a Product Designer to join its team. The role is based in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Own the end-to-end design of complex product surfaces and features, from problem framing and research through pixel-perfect specifications and post-launch iteration. Shape product direction alongside product, engineering, and data teams, and raise the bar on design quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Execution

• Own the end-to-end design of complex product surfaces, from initial problem framing and research synthesis through to pixel-perfect specs and post-launch iteration.
• Translate ambiguous, multi-constraint problems (compliance, UX, business model) into clear, elegant flows that users actually understand.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and data to define what gets built and why, not just how it looks.
• Move quickly, clearly articulate tradeoffs, and own features independently.

Design Systems & Scaling

• Build and maintain an interaction vocabulary that scales: patterns, components, and decision logic that make the team faster over time.
• Think in systems: design the logic that connects screens, not just individual screens.
• Demonstrate fluency in information architecture and navigation design at scale.

Quality & Collaboration

• Raise the bar on design quality across the product, through critique, documentation, and shipping work that others want to reference.
• Be obsessive about the details that users notice but cannot name: timing, affordance, feedback, and trust signals in a payments context.
• Demonstrate high integrity and a team-first mindset; make everyone around you better.
• Move fluidly between strategy and craft, as comfortable in a whiteboard session defining the problem as in Figma pushing pixels.

Research & Strategy

• Be a voice for the user in roadmap conversations, synthesizing research, behavioral data, and your own instincts into a coherent point of view.
• Treat research as a design tool, not a separate phase; synthesize signals quickly and move.
• Articulate design decisions in a way that holds up against hard questions from engineering and leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• 4+ years of product design experience.
• Strong portfolio showing work on complex, multi-state mobile flows, ideally in fintech, consumer apps, or high-usage transactional products.
• Track record of shaping product direction, not just executing it.

Skills & Competencies

• Think analytically and write clearly.
• Work fluidly with AI tools to compress execution time, stress-test ideas, and stay focused on hard thinking rather than repetitive making.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to visual craft beyond product conventions: composition, typography, spatial hierarchy, and layout decisions that make screens feel considered, not just functional.
• Show an eye for interaction quality: motion, micro-interactions, and the polish that separates good from great.
