Role Overview
Procurement Officer at MIRA Construction. This role is based within our construction team and focuses on automation and process improvement within procurement operations.
Role Purpose
To transform procurement operations through automation and process improvement. You will analyze current procurement workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and implement solutions that make procurement faster, more accurate, transparent and scalable. This role bridges procurement expertise with automation capability to drive digital transformation across purchase-to-pay processes.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Process Management
- Manage and understand day-to-day procurement and purchase-to-pay processes.
- Maintain accurate supplier, pricing and procurement master data.
- Ensure appropriate checks and controls remain in place when automating financial and procurement transactions.
Process Analysis & Workflow Design
- Review existing procurement workflows and identify repetitive manual activities.
- Analyze an existing manual process and design a more efficient automated workflow.
- Work with the construction team to understand operational requirements and convert them into practical automated workflows.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and control.
Automation Implementation
- Design and implement automation solutions for procurement-related processes.
- Automate document processing, supplier information, purchase requests, quotations, purchase orders, invoices and related records.
- Explore ways to automate data extraction from invoices, quotations and other procurement documents.
- Improve approval and transaction workflows to reduce manual intervention and processing time.
- Develop automated tracking and reporting systems for procurement activities.
- Use AI and automation tools to improve procurement documentation and communication.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of automated procurement processes.
Systems & Integration
- Integrate different tools and systems where possible to eliminate duplicate data entry.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, accounts payable or purchase-to-pay processes.
- Experience in the construction industry or construction procurement environment is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with automation is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of how procurement processes can be digitised and automated.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience using automation, workflow or AI tools such as Power Automate, Make, Zapier, n8n, AI tools, Excel automation or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, data handling and automation.
- Comfortable working with documents, structured data and transaction records.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when dealing with invoices, purchase orders, supplier data and financial transactions.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of process-improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Programming experience is not mandatory, but a strong understanding of automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, Excel automation, workflow platforms or similar technologies is essential.
