Process Controller / Control Room Operator (CCR Operator)

Role Overview

Process Controller / Control Room Operator (CCR Operator) at Burjline Builders. This is a control room-based role operating SWRO (seawater reverse osmosis) desalination plants.

Role Purpose

Monitor and control SWRO plant processes through DCS/SCADA systems, responding to alarms and deviations to maintain stable, safe operation while recording operational data and supporting maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operation & Process Control

• Operate and monitor SWRO plant processes through DCS/SCADA systems.
• Control intake and pretreatment systems.
• Control DAF and ultrafiltration units.
• Control high-pressure pumps.
• Control RO trains.
• Control chemical dosing systems.
• Control product water and distribution systems.
• Respond to alarms and process deviations.
• Take corrective actions to maintain stable operation.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Record operational data and prepare shift reports.
• Monitor water quality parameters.
• Analyze plant performance trends.
• Maintain accurate operational logs.

Coordination

• Coordinate with field operators during plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.
• Supervise field activities from the control room.
• Communicate operational changes to maintenance and operations teams.

Maintenance Support

• Assist maintenance teams during troubleshooting and equipment isolation.
• Participate in calibration of instruments and process equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow HSE procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and water quality regulations.
• Report abnormal conditions immediately.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology, or Water Treatment Technology.
• Technical or trade qualification with relevant desalination experience may also be accepted.
• Typically 3–5 years or more in SWRO desalination plants of 50 MLD or above, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, or process industries (chemical, power, oil & gas).
• Experience operating DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems.
• Knowledge of water treatment chemistry and chemical dosing systems.
