Role Overview

Process Automation System SME at Wood PLC, serving as the Technical Authority across a portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Lead technical strategy for DCS, SIS, SCADA and integrated automation systems. Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including proposals, concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction support and commissioning. Act as the highest level of technical authority within the discipline, providing specialist expertise, ensuring engineering excellence, strengthening technical governance and supporting the delivery of safe, innovative and high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Authority & Leadership

• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Provide specialist expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.

Design & Engineering Excellence

• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Ensure engineering excellence and technical governance.

Business Development & Client Support

• Support proposals, client workshops and business development activities.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders across the region.

Standards & Capability Development

• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical capability within engineering teams.
• Establish and maintain technical standards across the portfolio.
• Contribute to technical assurance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, Mining or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status is preferred.
