Role Overview
Principal Technical Professional – Telecommunication at KBR.
Role Purpose
Design, specify, and deliver communication systems including satellite, line of sight, fiber optic, phone, and public address systems. Oversee transmission of data from supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Provide advanced technical guidance and represent the organization in external negotiations and conferences on engineering matters of strategic importance.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Specification
- Design and specify communication systems across satellite, line of sight, fiber optic, phone, and public address platforms.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques to communication system problems.
- Make independent decisions on engineering methods and approaches.
Technical Leadership & Guidance
- Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to associates and colleagues on matters requiring scientific interpretation and technical advice.
- Represent the organization in conferences and negotiations with key engineers and officials of other organizations.
Budget & Resource Management
- Own responsibility for a measurable asset, including assigned staff and budget.
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience in telecommunication or communication systems engineering.
- Average experience of 10+ years in the field.
