Role Overview
Principal Technical Professional - Piping at KBR. This role operates with general supervision, applying advanced engineering techniques independently to resolve complex engineering problems and represent the organization with external stakeholders.
Role Purpose
Lead technical strategy and engineering decision-making on piping systems and related challenges. Provide expert guidance to design teams and junior engineers while maintaining accountability for assigned staff and budget resources.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Decision-Making
- Apply advanced engineering techniques independently to solve complex piping engineering problems.
- Make informed decisions on engineering methods and technical approaches.
- Consult extensively with associates and provide high-reliance scientific interpretations and advice.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
Stakeholder & External Relations
- Represent the organization in conferences to resolve important technical questions.
- Negotiate with key engineers and officials from other organizations on engineering matters.
Resource Management
- Own responsibility for a measurable asset such as assigned staff and budget.
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of related piping or engineering experience.
- Average experience ranging from 10+ years.
