Power Gen Supervisor

Role Overview

Power Gen Supervisor at Amentum. This is a supervisory position responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and operation of electrical power generation equipment and associated systems.

Role Purpose

Provide primary supervision for the maintenance, repair, installation and operation of electrical power generation equipment, water distribution systems, aircraft arresting systems, low and high voltage electrical distribution systems, airfield lighting systems, and associated equipment. Ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Provide supervision in operation, maintenance, inspection, testing, repairing, reconstitution and storage of electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, aircraft arresting systems, low and high voltage electrical distribution systems, devices, airfield lighting systems, exterior lighting systems, interior lighting and electrical systems associated with the GPMS Program.
• Operate various test equipment, load banks and other diagnostic equipment as required by technical data to operate, maintain, inspect, test, repair and reconstitute GPMS assets.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints and maintenance malfunction data to analyze malfunctions.
• Supervise the erection, construction and operation of GPMS power generation and associated equipment to support real world exercises and contingencies.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Prepare GPMS assets and equipment for air, sea and road haul shipments in accordance with Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations and Unit Type Code (UTC) Configuration listings.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Perform CSC Inspections on containers as needed.
• Perform quality inspections before, during and after maintenance.
• Complete quality documents as required.
• Complete and quality check maintenance records and documentation as required.
• Prepare and complete required documentation to include DoD, USAF Supply/Maintenance, Amentum and associated forms, as well as updates to historical records.
• Conform to Amentum and USAF safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
• Inspect Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinate with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required.

Supervision & Training

• Assign work assignments to subordinates.
• Provide technical assistance, training and On-the-Job Training (OJT). Document the training and OJT.
• Plan employee workload and administer direct supervision.

General Duties

• Ensure all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.
• Perform Temporary Duty (TDY) in the Area of Operations as required by USAF and Amentum tasking.
• Assist in other departments when directed or requested to accomplish a specific task or project.
• Perform other skilled or unskilled jobs as directed by the Superintendent.
• Perform other tasks and duties as directed by Amentum and USAF tasking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of military or civilian experience in power generation operation and maintenance required.
• Knowledge of military or civilian maintenance systems, quality assurance and supervisory techniques required.
• Two years of experience in a supervisory position preferred.
• High voltage power generation equipment (5000 volts or higher) preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in use of personal computers and Windows Operating System.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include as a minimum PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints and technical data for the maintenance, inspection, testing, repairing, reconstitution and storage of electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, aircraft arresting systems, low and high voltage electrical distribution systems, devices, airfield lighting systems, exterior light systems, interior lighting and electrical systems associated with the GPMS Program or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems.
• Ability to plan employee workload and administer direct supervision.
• Operation of material handling equipment.

Additional Information

• Must be able to obtain CSC Certification.
• Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials and authorization at this work location.
• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
• Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting, pushing and pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
• May be required to work in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
