Role Overview
Wood PLC is recruiting for a PMC Senior Project Controls Manager in Abu Dhabi within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Role Purpose
This role exists to ensure that products, processes, and systems meet quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives for a high-profile client. The Senior Project Controls Manager will serve as a focal point for project assessment, evaluation, and performance, while leading project controls, financial reporting, contract management, and team organization across integrated project management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Services
- Establish, implement, and ensure compliance with procedures and processes for Project Services & Controls.
- Lead and direct the work of the IPMT Business Team.
- Direct all project activities related to the preparation of the annual Business Plan and related budget in coordination with the Project Support Manager.
- Serve as the focal point for general project assessments, evaluation, and performance, including ADNOC Offshore reviews and Independent Project Reviews by shareholders and other agencies.
- Direct the preparation of management and project reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and presentations in coordination with the Business Planning & Management Reporting Team lead.
- Maintain close liaison with appropriate members of the project management team (Engineering, Construction, Quality, SHE&S).
- Guide the development and implementation of project procedures and systems related to contracts, project controls, procurement, information management, and financial reporting/accounting.
- Conduct briefing sessions for project team members with respect to project services requirements and processes with special focus on Safety.
- Lead the risk management process for the team and ensure that the project issues and risk register are kept up to date.
EPC Contractor Management
- Ensure that the EPC contractor's activities with respect to project cost, schedule, contract, procurement, and information management are being managed per the Company's guidelines and contract requirements.
- Provide advice to the EPC contractor as necessary to ensure ADNOC Offshore's and the Project's objectives are achieved.
- Ensure that the EPC contractor's organization is fully aware of and accepts the guidance offered by the Company's project services professionals.
Cost, Schedule, and Controls
- Finalize the cost and schedule estimate confidence package and ensure project risks and issues are properly weighted in.
- Provide cost and schedule information to support decisions by the project team and develop and discuss project periodic cost and schedule reports with IPMT.
- Provide advice on cost and schedule impact of changes, modifications, or alternates by staying abreast of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Monitor and coordinate reporting of cost and schedule impact of changes and ensure the accounting systems are in line with audit requirements.
- Direct and monitor all financial reporting for the project, including accrual reports, cash calls, and reconciliation of ADNOC Offshore systems with project reporting.
- Direct and monitor all accounting activities, including invoicing review and approvals.
- Direct the preparation of the Fixed Asset Registers for the project scope.
Contract and Procurement
- Direct the preparation of all related tender and procurement activities and manage the respective tender evaluations through to award.
- Provide support to the Project Manager and IPMT on Contract Administration issues and matters.
- Lead the implementation of the ExxonMobil Master Technical Agreement work order process for the Project team.
- Coordinate all ExxonMobil work request activities.
- Secure other than EPC contracts required to support project execution and commissioning.
Organization and Staffing
- Direct the development of the IPMT organizational plan and related staffing.
- Oversee and coordinate all IPMT administrative staff and office support activities.
- Identify opportunities to mentor ADNOC Offshore staff in business activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 20 years' relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction planning processes, planning tools, and project management techniques.
- Knowledge of CTR and progress measurement processes.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams (strongly preferred).
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East (advantageous).
- Worldwide experience with Contractors and Vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of modules and onshore facilities.
