Role Overview

PMC Senior Piping Engineer at Wood PLC, based full-time at ASAB site in Abu Dhabi, supporting ADNOC Onshore operations.

Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive technical expertise in piping design and engineering for ADNOC Onshore projects. Ensure all design and engineering work complies with relevant codes and ADNOC standards while coordinating with EPC contractors, internal discipline teams, and ADNOC stakeholders to deliver quality piping engineering solutions on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Technical Expertise

• Provide technical expertise in all piping design activities.
• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of piping engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors.
• Review and approve engineering consultant and EPC contractor work to ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
• Ensure design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Coordination and Project Management

• Coordinate, monitor and handle piping design and engineering with EPC contractor as per project expectation and complete work within the agreed timeframe.
• Ensure full utilization of existing facilities while optimizing facilities required for new projects.
• Ensure integration of overall piping engineering and coordinate within IPMT piping engineering team.
• Coordinate engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure quality and accuracy of engineering consultant and EPC contractor piping engineering design activities.
• Ensure that facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
• Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of design options and business models to design optimization and validation.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Reviews

• Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC contractor, ADNOC engineering, operations, and site interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.
• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate technical reviews, bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Interface regularly with contractor's engineering and project management team and discipline engineers as required.
• Interface with managers, team leaders and engineers in the company's technical departments, business units, operations units, and logistics department.

Installation and Commissioning Support

• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Reporting and Governance

• Report to ADNOC discipline team leader and engineering manager.
• Provide support to project managers and engineers within the project management team organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
