Role Overview
Wood PLC is recruiting a PMC Senior Construction Engineer (I&C) for a full-time, site-based position in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, working as part of the ADNOC Gas PMC team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Role Purpose
This role exists to oversee and coordinate mechanical construction projects for a high-profile ADNOC client, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards. You will manage mechanical systems and installations across assigned project disciplines, leading multidisciplinary teams and contractors to deliver compliant, sustainable outcomes aligned with international codes and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and implement detailed mechanical construction plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies for efficient site execution.
- Coordinate work schedules for mechanical personnel to maximize utilization and meet project timelines.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes, and client requirements for all mechanical systems and installations.
- Ensure all mechanical activities are executed according to quality standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations, equipment, and systems to meet project standards.
Cost & Schedule Control
- Monitor and control project costs and schedules for mechanical works, preventing overspending and ensuring timely delivery.
- Control project cost and schedule for assigned mechanical disciplines and ensure timely completion of mechanical works.
- Monitor mechanical work progress and report status against the approved plan.
Supervision & Execution
- Oversee construction and contractor-related mechanical deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Supervise mechanical works across all areas on small projects or specific mechanical disciplines on larger projects.
- Manage and execute multiple mechanical-related field disciplines or assigned subsets of construction projects in line with contract requirements and company policies.
- Manage installation, testing, commissioning, and completion activities for mechanical systems and associated equipment.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Identify potential risks in mechanical construction activities, implement mitigation measures, and enforce strict safety protocols.
- Define and communicate safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities to all personnel involved in mechanical operations.
- Ensure all mechanical personnel receive appropriate training, including health and safety and site-specific inductions.
- Initiate and enforce safety, quality, and environmental processes within mechanical operations, including toolbox talks, inspections, and risk assessments in compliance with company and client requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to align mechanical works with overall project objectives.
Sustainability
- Integrate eco-friendly practices in mechanical construction and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Instrument, Control, or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Minimum five (5) years preferred experience in GCC region.
- At least five (5) years of experience in similar position for international major (more than 1 billion US$) Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
