PMC Manager - Construction & Installation

Role Overview

Wood PLC is recruiting an experienced PMC Manager – Construction & Installation for an ADNOC Offshore client in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This full-time position is based at the client office in Abu Dhabi and sits within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Role Purpose

Lead the planning and execution of Islands underground civil works, onshore fabrication, and offshore transportation and installation/mechanical completion of components and brownfield modifications. Ensure project objectives are achieved through direct management of Construction Leaders and accountability for construction execution in accordance with ADNOC Offshore and project procedures and shareholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

• Develop a comprehensive project plan and detailed schedule, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Lead construction planning teams to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities.
• Manage the Contractor's construction planning and execution efforts to ensure compliance with project objectives, strategies, obligations, and requirements.
• Provide construction and execution strategy support to the Project Team through construction oversight and assistance.

Budget & Cost Management

• Estimate costs accurately and control the budget throughout the project.
• Suggest cost-effective alternatives.

Quality & Constructability

• Ensure that construction work meets required standards and specifications.
• Ensure that the detailed design deliverables support constructability.
• Sponsor construction-related readiness reviews, constructability workshops, and CERs.

Risk Management

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.

Contract & Vendor Management

• Oversee contracts with consultants, contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Report construction progress, performance, initiatives, and issues to the Project Team.
• Regularly report on project progress to stakeholders, including any issues or delays.
• Facilitate smooth communication between all parties involved in the project to ensure everyone is aligned and informed.
• Steward interfaces and interactions between the Contractor and other UZ Projects, Production Operations, and Drilling.
• Manage the interface with ADNOC Offshore OPCO to execute brownfield works in order to minimize disruption in ongoing production operations.
• Clearly communicate to direct reports short-term and long-term goals that support project objectives.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead the Construction team to support the objectives and strategies.
• Establish a construction organization to implement the project execution plans and procedures and coordinate resourcing of construction team positions.
• Manage the On Island Construction teams responsible for the planning, development, and operations to ensure construction execution certainty.
• Take a leadership role in mentoring and training UAE Nationals in construction management.
• Encourage and recognize outstanding performance, and ensure that staff are appraised regularly and developed accordingly.

Safety & Compliance

• Champion safety in all construction aspects and promote the safety objective that "Nobody gets Hurt".
• Ensure that the Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies, and procedures.
• Steward the development of an Integrated Safety Plan for construction, including SIMOPS for all island and brownfield work.
• Assist in the review and implementation of all Contractor safety plans.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (essential).
• Minimum 20 years of experience on large oil and gas projects including offshore.
• Offshore experience along with brownfield experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work with people across a diversity of cultures.
