Role Overview
PMC Lead Process Engineer (Early MP) at Wood PLC, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Role Purpose
To lead and manage all process engineering activities on behalf of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for ADNOC projects, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of process design and engineering in alignment with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international best practices. The role provides technical leadership, oversees EPC contractor deliverables, ensures design integrity, optimizes process performance, and supports successful project execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering Leadership & Coordination
- Ensure integration of overall Process Engineering and overall coordination within IPMT Process Engineering Team.
- Lead and manage all process engineering activities on behalf of the Project Management Consultant (PMC).
- Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization.
Design Quality & Compliance
- Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's Process Engineering design activities.
- Review and approve Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
- Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
Design Optimization & Analysis
- Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
- Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
- Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
Facilities & Resource Management
- Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.
Technical Reviews & Workshops
- Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
- Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
Cross-Discipline Collaboration
- Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
- Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department.
- Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required.
Project Execution Support
- Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.
- Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
- Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
