PMC Lead Packages Engineer

Role Overview

PMC Lead Packages Engineer at Wood PLC. This role leads and coordinates engineering teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and completion of technical projects for high-profile clients in the oil and gas sector.

Role Purpose

Provide technical expertise in all mechanical packaged equipment design, ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards, and coordinate packaged equipment design and engineering with EPC contractors to deliver quality discipline engineering execution within project timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Package Engineering Leadership

• Ensure integration of overall Mechanical Package Engineering and overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical Package Engineering Team.
• Lead technical expertise in all mechanical packaged equipment design.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant and EPC Contractor mechanical package engineering design activities.
• Participate in equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.

Design Review & Compliance

• Review and approve Engineering Consultant and EPC Contractor work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical Packaged Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
• Ensure that facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.

Coordination & Problem-Solving

• Coordinate and monitor packaged equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete within the time frame.
• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
• Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
• Ensure full utilization of existing facilities while optimizing facilities required for new projects.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering, Operation, and Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.

Stakeholder & Team Interface

• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization.
• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department.
• Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.

Design & Technical Support

• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
