Role Overview
PMC Lead HSE at Wood PLC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead HSE with a proven track record in ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee well-being. The position will be based full time at Site for an ADNOC client in Abu Dhabi within Wood's Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Role Purpose
To create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors. Execute technical work for FEED and detail design within designated Cost Time & Resource scopes. The Lead HSE will develop policies, conduct risk assessments, and oversee company-wide safety initiatives while ensuring adherence to local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability.
- Monitor and enhance HSE policies and procedures to align with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policies and Client requirements.
- Work with on site management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of Business Unit specific HSE policies and procedures.
- Meet company Occupational Health and Safety goals.
Quality & Assurance
- Implement, practice and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in FEED office projects.
- Carry out appropriate discipline and inter-discipline checks and review of engineering and design work.
- Contribute to the development of the HSE Assurance Plan to deliver high risk audits across the area or Division of responsibility.
- Provide advice and recommendations of improvement.
- Conduct safety and environmental audits and inspections in accordance with the Integrated Management System.
- Conduct loss event investigations and prepare reports for internal and external purposes.
Stakeholder Management & Training
- Support a team of Advisors to assist in the delivery of Wood EPCM projects.
- Provide visibility and interface of the HSE function.
- Work in collaboration with other members of the team and the wider business to facilitate high performance delivery through successful implementation of processes and systems, in a sustainable manner.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on safety protocols and best practices.
- Prepare and deliver training courses and toolbox talks to ensure full knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and techniques.
- Assist site management in the periodic preparation and presentation of seminars and training for clients, own employees and other interested parties and stakeholders.
- Liaise with Health & Safety stewards on a regular basis ensuring consultation and participation of workforce.
- Provide HSE advice and direction to on site management, staff and contractors.
- Manage relationship with client's HSE teams.
Planning & Incident Response
- Advise and assist site management in the preparation of Safety & Environmental Plans, Risk Assessments and method statements for various projects in line with client SLA's and KPI's.
- Establish and maintain emergency response plans to handle workplace incidents effectively.
- Analyze workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare safety and environmental reports as required.
- Report to Line Management of HSE activities.
- Share information, suggestions and observations to create consistency throughout the Company.
Culture & Organizational Development
- Drive behavioral culture change programs.
- Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle.
- Assist other members of the team across business unit audits.
