Role Overview

PMC Construction Site Manager at Wood PLC. This is a full-time position based in Abu Dhabi, reporting to ADNOC Offshore.

Role Purpose

Lead the direct management, planning and execution of Islands underground civil works, onshore fabrication, and offshore transportation, installation, mechanical completion and brownfield modifications. Ensure the project is executed in accordance with ADNOC Offshore and project procedures and shareholder expectations. Directly manage Construction Leaders for on-island construction and onshore precast delivery for a high-profile client.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead the Construction team to support project objectives and strategies.
• Directly manage On Island Construction teams responsible for planning, development and operations to ensure construction execution certainty.
• Clearly communicate to direct reports short-term and long-term goals that support project objectives.
• Encourage and recognize outstanding performance, and ensure that staff are appraised regularly and developed accordingly.
• Take a leadership role in mentoring and training UAE Nationals in construction management.

Safety and Compliance

• Champion safety in all construction aspects and promote the safety objective that Nobody gets Hurt.
• Ensure that the Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies and procedures.
• Steward the development of an Integrated Safety Plan for construction, including SIMOPS for all island and brownfield work.
• Assist in the review and implementation of all Contractor safety plans.

Planning and Execution Strategy

• Manage the Contractor's construction planning and execution efforts to ensure compliance with project objectives, strategies, obligations and requirements.
• Establish a construction organization to implement the project execution plans and procedures and coordinate resourcing of construction team positions.
• Develop a comprehensive project plan and detailed schedule, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Lead construction planning teams to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities.
• Sponsor construction-related readiness reviews, constructability workshops and CERs.
• Ensure that detailed design deliverables support constructability.

Budget and Cost Management

• Estimate costs accurately, control the budget throughout the project, and suggest cost-effective alternatives.

Quality and Standards

• Ensure that construction work meets required standards and specifications.

Risk Management

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.

Contractor and Vendor Management

• Oversee contracts with consultants, contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Manage the interface with ADNOC Offshore OPCO to execute brownfield works in order to minimize disruption in ongoing production operations.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Steward interfaces and interactions between the Contractor and other UZ Projects, Production Operations and Drilling.
• Provide construction and execution strategy support to the Project Team through construction oversight and assistance.
• Facilitate smooth communication between all parties involved in the project to ensure everyone is aligned and informed.

Reporting and Communication

• Report construction progress, performance, initiatives and issues to the Project Team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent level of site experience in a senior role.
• Minimum of twenty (20) years of previous construction management experience on large oil and gas development projects.
• Professional Engineer accreditation preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work with people across a diversity of cultures.

• Contract type: Full-time.
