Plumbing Section Lead at Intrepid Global Solutions. This role maintains and repairs buildings, grounds, and related facilities, installing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a wide variety of engines and mechanical equipment designed for use in domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural activities.

Role Purpose
Lead plumbing operations by assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and mechanical systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Ensure efficient operating condition of heating, water, drainage, and related systems in support of facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Assembly
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
Planning and Inspection
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
- Inspect structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
- Locate and mark position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
Fabrication and Cutting
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools.
- Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
- Bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
Joining and Testing
- Join pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
- Fill pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
Maintenance and Repair
- Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
- Weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Master or Journeyman Plumbing License required.
- 5 years of experience in a plumber role.
- 3 years of related plumbing experience specializing in backflow inspection, testing, and maintenance of backflow prevention devices and systems.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Proficiency with pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
- Proficiency with pipe-bending machine.
- Welding capability.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and working drawings.
- Ability to read pressure gauges.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Ability to endure long hours, exposure to weather, and hazardous conditions.
Additional Information
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred).
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar.
- Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Travel: 100% in deployed location.
