Role Overview

Plumber at Al Ghurair. This position involves performing journey-level plumbing work on base facilities, including installation, repair, and modification of water supply, sewage disposal, gas distribution, oil lines, and related utility systems.

Role Purpose

To install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with specifications and plumbing codes, ensuring safe and functional utility infrastructure for base facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Perform the full range of journey level plumbing duties such as installing, repairing, and modifying water supply, sewage disposal, gas distribution, oil lines, and similar utility systems and equipment for base facilities.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
• Study building plans and drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools.
• Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
• Bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
• Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
• Weld holding fixtures to steel structural members as needed.
• Ensure work orders are properly filled out and returned to work management when complete.
• Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to adherence.

Stakeholder Management

• Confer with officials on proposed plumbing projects and make recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum: Relevant experience 2–3 years.
• Preferred: Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship.
• Preferred: Relevant experience in UAE or Gulf.

• Ability to identify plumbing problems and provide solutions to resolve such issues.
