Role Overview
Piping Supervisor - Fabrication with Wood PLC, based in the Fabrication shop in Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Piping Supervisor with a proven track record in the industry, ensuring the successful execution of projects and alignment with company goals for a high-profile client on a multi-billion dollar ADNOC project.

Role Purpose
To supervise and coordinate all piping fabrication activities within the fabrication shop, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and approved procedures. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality fabrication works safely, on schedule, and in alignment with EPCM execution requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise day-to-day piping fabrication activities including cutting, fit-up, welding, and assembly in the fabrication shop.
- Supervise subcontractors (if applicable) and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
- Lead a multicultural workforce in a high-pressure environment.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all fabrication works are executed in accordance with approved drawings (isometrics), WPS, ITPs, and ADNOC project specifications.
- Review fabrication drawings and identify potential constructability issues prior to execution.
- Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for stage inspections, weld inspections, and final acceptance.
- Support pre-commissioning activities by ensuring fabricated spools meet quality and documentation requirements.
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, and handling of piping materials in line with project requirements.
Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate closely with engineering, QA/QC, and planning teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of technical queries.
- Monitor productivity and optimize resource utilization (manpower, materials, and equipment).
- Ensure availability of materials, tools, and consumables to avoid delays in fabrication activities.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and ADNOC safety standards within the fabrication shop.
Reporting and Documentation
- Track fabrication progress and report daily/weekly status to Construction/Project Management.
- Maintain records of fabrication activities, weld maps, and production reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in piping fabrication, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience working on ADNOC projects or similar Middle East oil & gas EPC/EPCM projects.
- Experience managing fabrication shop operations, workforce supervision, and productivity control.
- Experience with large-scale, multi-billion-dollar EPCM projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of piping fabrication processes, welding techniques, NDT requirements, and international codes (ASME, API).
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, GA drawings, and P&IDs.
- Good coordination and communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of material control systems and spool tracking.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation (MS Office, fabrication tracking systems).
- Leadership ability to manage multicultural workforce in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
