Role Overview
Piping Engineer (Fabrication) with Archirodon Group N.V, based at the site office for a major Oil & Gas EPC project in the UAE.

Role Purpose
The Piping Engineer will plan, coordinate, and supervise all piping fabrication activities for the project, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications while maintaining schedule, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation Review
- Review and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications, and construction work packs.
- Prepare and review fabrication work packages, material take-offs (MTO), and bills of materials (BOM).
- Proficiently read engineering drawings, isometrics, and fabrication documents.
Fabrication Planning & Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise piping fabrication activities in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Planning, and Construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify potential fabrication constraints and implement mitigation measures to avoid schedule delays.
- Support site construction activities by coordinating fabricated spool deliveries and installation requirements.
Fabrication Supervision & Execution
- Supervise pipe cutting, fit-up, welding, spool fabrication, assembly, and dimensional inspection activities.
- Verify fabrication works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper material identification, traceability, storage, preservation, and handling throughout fabrication activities.
- Ensure all welding activities are performed in accordance with approved WPS, PQR, and qualified welder requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, API, ASTM, and client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans, inspection test plans (ITP), and client requirements.
- Monitor weld quality, repair rates, productivity, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate and monitor NDT, PWHT, hydrotesting, and other inspection activities as per project specifications.
- Review and resolve fabrication-related technical queries and construction issues.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely completion of fabrication deliverables in line with project milestones.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fabrication progress reports and productivity reports.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support and fabrication status updates.
Mechanical Completion & Handover
- Coordinate spool release, hydrotest package preparation, mechanical completion, and handover activities.
Safety & Engagement
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture within fabrication teams.
Cost Control
- Assist in cost control initiatives by minimizing material wastage, weld repairs, and fabrication rework.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 13–16 years of experience in piping fabrication within Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, LNG, or EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, material control, and international codes and standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings, isometrics, and fabrication documents.
- Good communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
